Mexican Opal & Diamond Ring
The ancient civilizations of central America considered the fire opal a stone that represented life and was created in the heavens. Today, although it is lesser known than its white or black opal counterparts, the Mexican fire opal is stunning in its own right as a transparent yellow to orangey-red fine gemstone. This tablet-cut, 7.20 carat fire opal is backed with a slice of mother-of-pearl, giving it a dreamy iridescent quality as the light passes through it. Set in rich 18k yellow gold to complement the stone's golden yellow color, a contemporary square halo and thick satin-finished band complete the modern look.
